About Kingman Park
Kingman Park is a vibrant, diverse residential community in the Northeast quadrant of Washington, D.C. Our neighborhood borders landmarks like the Langston Golf Course, Anacostia River, Kingman and Heritage Islands Conservation Area, RFK Stadium, and Capitol Hill. A large part of the residential community is recognized as a national historic district for its contributions to African American civil rights, U.S. history, and the development of Washington, D.C.

Kingman Park Historic District
Residents of Kingman Park played a significant role in the twentieth-century struggle for African American civil rights. In recognition of these contributions, the Historic District is listed on the DC Inventory of Historic Sites and the National Register of Historic Places.
Kingman and Heritage Islands Conservation Area
Kingman and Heritage Islands contain important and rare ecosystems, including tidal freshwater wetlands, vernal pools, wildflower meadows, and tidal swamp forests. The islands are home to more than 100 different species of birds, mammals, and other wildlife.
The Fields at RFK
The Fields transformed acres of surface parking lots on the RFK campus into active playspace for sports and recreation. It contains three multi-sport fields, a playground, outside exercise equipment, a frisbee golf course, rain gardens, and more.
Langston Golf Course
This historic 18-Hole course was named after John Mercer Langston, the first African American elected into public office. It is home to the oldest African American men’s and women’s golf clubs in the United States. Langston’s history is directly tied to the desegregation of sport in our country.
Rosedale Library
Rosedale Library welcomes around 70,000 visitors annually, making it among the most densely used libraries in D.C. when accounting for square footage. It is co-located with the Rosedale Recreation Center, and offers a variety of opportunities for learning and skill-building. By 2030, DCPL plans to redevelop this facility into a full-service library.
Rosedale Recreation Center
Rosedale Recreation Center offers basketball courts, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, an ADA accessible playground, and a variety of programs for children and youth.
